Calderdale school put into lockdown after nearby disturbance involving four men

Police were called at 12.50pm to reports of a disturbance involving four males on Wakefield Road, Lightcliffe close to Lightcliffe Academy.

Posting on Twitter the school said: "Due to an incident that was unrelated to the school, the police advised we keep all students inside, this is called an invacuation. The police have now advised the situation is under control and this has been lifted."

Police officers attended the scene and arrested from the scene.

Officers attended and two men were arrested from the scene.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "There are no reports of any injuries and there is no wider risk to the public.

"Anyone who witnessed it or anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting log 759 of 12/3."
