Cars smashed with baseball bats in Halifax Tesco car park as three arrested

Three people have been arrested after police were called to disorder in a Tesco car park - with reports of cars being smashed up with baseball bats.

Officers were called to the car park on Haugh Shaw Road, Halifax, shortly before 10pm on Monday night. (December 7)

On arrival officers viewed store CCTV, three men, two aged 23 and one aged 25 have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remain in police custody at this time.

Police believe this was a targeted and "isolated incident".

Reassurance patrols have been put in place in the area.

Inspector Jim Graham from Halifax Central Neighbourhood Police Team said: "We believe this to be a targeted and isolated incident.

"My officers are conducting reassurance patrols in the area.

"I would like to appeal to anyone who may have information about the incident yesterday to come forward.

"Our enquiries are ongoing."
