A thief pulled a delivery driver from his van and crashed it into another car as he sped away from the scene in a second carjacking in Halifax within 24 hours.

The incident happened on Keighley Road, Halifax, between 2pm and 2.17pm on Saturday when a delivery driver returned to his Citroen Dispatch van after having delivered a parcel.

As the driver was sitting in the van organising more deliveries a man went up to the driver’s door, grabbing the driver and pulling him out of the vehicle.

He then made off in the van, registration SB15 XAK, colliding with another vehicle. As the vehicle was driven off the delivery driver attempted to stop it.

It is thought that a silver coloured Ford Focus was also involved in the incident.

A man officers want to speak to in connection with the incident is described as white, aged between 25 and 28, 5’5” tall, of medium build and with a gaunt looking face.

He was wearing a grey coloured hooded top and jeans

Any witnesses are asked to contact DC Alison Mitchell of Halifax CID on 101 quoting reference 13160109078 of March 12.

Another car jacking took place in Ovenden the day before.
