A WEEK of raids aimed at bringing in some of Calderdale’s biggest drug dealers resulted in 60 arrests.
Operation Irondale, carried out earlier this month, was one of the largest of its kind run by Calderdale Police.
As reported by the Courier, it involved 100 officers swooping at homes in areas across the district including north Halifax, King Cross, Park ward and the Upper Valley.
They were looking for people believed to be involved in drug dealing and serious organised crime.
Detective Inspector Gary Stephenson, from Calderdale CID, said a significant quantity of cash and drugs had been seized along with counterfeit goods.
“We’ve been receiving positive feedback from the community in response to this operation,” he said.
