AN ICE-CREAM van and a house were raided by police searching for drugs.

Officers from Halifax Central neighbourhood policing team carried out the swoops on Tuesday morning.

Nothing was found in the ice-cream van but cannabis was discovered at the house in Boothtown, Halifax.

A 26-year-old was arrested and charged with possessing cannabis.

He will appear before Calderdale magistrates later this month.

Sergeant John Simpson, from the team, said: “These searches were part of ongoing investigations by Halifax Central neighbourhood policing team into the supply and use of drugs.
