Extra police drafted in for big Halifax Town clash

Extra police officers have been drafted in with the expectation of more visitors to Halifax town centre today (Saturday).

Along with the public meeting at North Bridge Leisure Centre to discuss the closure of the Accident and Emergency department at Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax Town are in action against top of the table Luton Town.

Up to 2,000 Luton fans are expected for the match at 3pm with an extra three police sergeants and 21 PC’s drafted in to help with the numbers.

The public meeting to discuss the A&E closure has been organised by Unison Calderdale and Huddersfield Health Branch and will take place at 12.30pm
