Fifth man charged in connection with Leeds murder investigation


A fifth man has been charged in connection with the investigation in to the murder of Shuel Ali Hussain in Leeds.

Yakub Miah, 41, of St Martins Gardens, Potternewton, Leeds, has been charged with assisting an offender, attempting to pervert the course of justice, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and production of cannabis.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Leeds Magistrates Court on Monday, March 16.

Four men were charged with the murder of Shuel Ali Hussain on March 13.

Masum Ahmed, 19, of Airelie Avenue, Leeds and Rajak Miah, 20, have been charged with Conspiracy to Murder.

Two males, aged 16 and 17, from the Chapeltown and Harehills areas, respectively, have also been charged with Conspiracy to Murder. In addition, the 16-year-old has been charged with Possession of Section One Ammunition.

A 15-year-old male from Harehills has been released without charge

All of the males will appear before Leeds magistrates tomorrow morning (Saturday March 14).

Mr Hussain was shot while parked in his car on Pasture Road, Leeds on Monday night and died in a nearby store on Markham Avenue.
