Two men including one from Halifax have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a hit and run in Bradford.

The 30-year-old and a 41-year-old from Keighley have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives investigating the accident on Huddersfield Road, Bradford, which left a 39-year-old man hospitalised have also released the licence plate of a vehicle they are keen to trace.

The plate, YT55 NPN, was believed to have been attached to a black Nissan Navara, which is believed to have collided with a 39-year-old man in the early hours of Sunday. He suffered head injuries and was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The vehicle is a double crew pick-up style vehicle with a flat back.

Detective Inspector George Bardell, of Bradford South CID, said: “I am really keen to trace this vehicle and would also be interested to hear from anyone who has seen people acting suspiciously around a Navara, or whether anyone has seen one that looks like it might have been abandoned.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
