Halifax murder probe: What we know about the fatal stabbing of Jamie Brown

Police officers are still appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following the death of 17-year-old Jamie Brown. This is what we know so far.

What was reported to police?

West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) has said the incident took place in East Park Road, Ovenden, shortly before 9.30pm. A report was made that a male had been stabbed.

Officers attended and found two males with stab wounds and a third with a head injury.

Police released information that that one of the teenagers, later confirmed as Jamie Brown, sadly died a short time later.

The injuries to the other two males are not believed to be life threatening and both are said to be in a stable condition.

Who was arrested in connection with the incident?

Three 17-year-old males who were arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday night.Detectives arrested a further three males - aged 16,16 and 14 - on suspicion of murder i connection with the incident in which Mr Brown received fatal stab wounds.

Investigating officers confirmed today that all six males have been released pending further enquiries.

Detectives say enquiries are continuing into Saturday night’s fatal stabbing.
