Huge Halifax fight involving 15 men with baseball bats and weapons under investigation

Police are appealing for information and the communities’ support following an incident of disorder in Halifax last night that involved men fighting with baseball bats and weapons.

Between 8.15pm and 8.30pm, police responded to several calls reporting a group of around 15 males fighting with baseball bats and weapons on Fenton Road.

Officers attended and but found nobody in the area.

However, there was evidence to suggest the disorder.

Enquiries remain ongoing by Calderdale CID and there will be increased high visibility patrols in Park ward.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Bainbridge said: “There have been a number of recent incidents reported to us from this area over the past few weeks and our enquiries remain ongoing.

“This level of disorder is understandably causing concern to the local community and it will not be tolerated. Thankfully we haven’t had any reports of injuries, but concern is growing that the consequences could be much worse – not forgetting the current pandemic and the risk these individuals are putting themselves under and their families.

"The information on those involved lies within the local community and I would appeal for residents in this area to contact police with any information that could assist our ongoing enquires.

"These very challenging times but West Yorkshire Police continues to keep Calderdale and the wider county safe. If anyone has any information which could help with our enquiries I would appeal for you to contact police.
