THE number of victims of crime is down and confidence in the police is up, according to the latest figures released by West Yorkshire Police Authority.
There were 315 less victims of crime between April and September - a reduction of 0.3 per cent compared to the same period last year. Confidence in policing rose to 54 per cent- the highest rating to date. Overall satisfaction has improved to 84.6 per cent.
Ann Liston, from West Yorkshire Police Authority, said: “The continuing rise in public confidence and satisfaction is an excellent achievement, and is testament to the hard work of local officers to make our communities much safer places to live.”
