The incident occurred at a property in Garden Street, Todmorden on January 6 this year, at around 3pm.

The male suspect approached the home of the victim and he told her that he had been working on the neighbour’s gutters and also her some cheap carpets for sale.

She said she had to speak to her family and asked him to leave.

A short time later, the victim found the same suspect in the hallway of her house and she ushered him out. She discovered he had forced entry to the kitchen window and some of her jewellery had been stolen.

Detective Constable Graham Bennett, of Halifax CID, said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and we hope that by releasing this image, we will be able to capture the perpetrator.”

“Anyone who recognises the image of the man in the picture or has any information about this incident is asked to contact myself at Halifax CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13170008464 or alternatively information can be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
