Hunt for driver who failed to stop after collision with child

Police are appealing for information about a dark coloured car which is believed to have been involved in a fail to stop collision with a five-year-old girl.

The collision happened at the junction of Harbour Road and Verdun Road, near Shelf, at about 7.05pm on February 8.

The girl, who was crossing the road at the time, suffered a minor leg injury.

The vehicle, which was travelling along Harbour Road and turned right into Verdun Road was described as being a Volkswagen car, possibly a Passat.

Anyone who may have seen a similar vehicle in the area at the time is asked to contact PC 6222 Judge at the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support team on 101, quoting log *1387 of February 8.
