YOUTHS are risking their lives by playing on a derelict industrial site.
Police say they are getting reports of youngsters running around on the roof and playing at the old brick works on Blackley Lane in Elland.
Sergeant Warren Pitman, from the Lower Valley neighbourhood policing team, said: “Young people do not see the dangers of such activities.
“This is a well-known local site which attracts young people from Calderdale and Kirklees but this is not a playground.
“People who use the area to hang out are putting themselves in great danger and also the members of the emergency services who attend to calls there. I would urge parents to take an active interest in where there children are going over the holidays, no matter how old or street wise they are.”
