A MAN found searching through skips at the waste recycling site in Sowerby Bridge was looking for a radiator, a court heard.
John Halstead, 44, of Union Street, Sowerby Bridge, climbed the security fencing at the site owned by Sita at 3.55am on February 7.
He admitted being found in or upon enclosed premises for an unlawful purpose, namely theft.
After he climbed into the skip, he activated the alarm and a security guard arrived to find a selection of music and computer keyboards moved to one side.
Maggie Cavanagh, representing Halstead, said he had a long-standing alcohol problem.
She told the court he was looking through the skip for a radiator to help him during the cold weather.
He was given a six month conditional discharge.
