Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked and knocked to the ground, before having his property stolen from him in Boothtown.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery - which happened between 11.30pm and 11.40pm on Friday night on Range Lane, Boothtown.
Halifax CID would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information about the incident which occured after the local man had walked home from the centre of Halifax.
Police believe he may have been followed for some time prior to the attack.
The suspect is described as a white male, with dark hair, in his mid 20’s, average height and skinny build, wearing jeans and a white t-shirt.
The victim was detained over night in hospital and received treatment for a wound to his head.
Detective Inspector John Priestley of Halifax CID, said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack on member of the public in the street, we would like to hear from any persons who may have been in the area or have any information that can assist us to indentify the suspect.
