Man armed with knife and gun robs shop in Huddersfield

A thief weilding a gun and a knife burst into a shop in Huddersfield yesterday.

The robbery happened at Top News on Colne Road at 3.55am when the man went in and threatened two members of staff working at the time.

He left after making one of the victims fill a bag with £50 in cash.

The two workers - two men aged 38 and 19 - were not hurt.

The suspect was described as white, of heavy build, around 5ft 4ins tall and in his late 20s or early 30s.

He had a local accent and was wearing a dark top with a tiger’s face and the numbers 1953 on the front.
