Man assaulted after Bradford City match

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted following Bradford City’s home game with Sheffield United on Saturday.

The 44-year-old man was walking along Midland Road at about 6.45pm when he was punched in the face by an unknown suspect, knocking him to the floor.

The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a broken jaw.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, said: “This appears to be a totally unprovoked attack on a man who was walking home from the match with his two sons.

“There would have been lots of people about at the time, and I would urge anyone who witnessed this assault to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
