A man was assaulted after confronting a gang found driving anti-socially around a multi-storey car park in Halifax.

The 44-year-old victim was walking home with his wife along Gibbet Street when they came across the group of men.

Police say the victim confronted the suspects who got out of their vehicles before an argument ensued.

The victim was then pushed to the ground and was taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital for treatment.

Officers from Halifax Central neighbourhood policing team are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, shortly after 11.30pm on October 27, to get in touch with PC Dave Ryan on 101.
