A 51-year-old man whose mobile phone was found to contain an indecent video of a girl and images of extreme pornography involving adults and animals has been made the subject of a three-year community order.
As part of his sentence David Whittaker will also be supervised by the probation service for three years and he will have to take part in a sex offender treatment programme.
Back in March 2011 Whittaker, now of no fixed abode, was jailed for possessing indecent images of children and was made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order and told to notify the police about any change of address.
Bradford Crown Court heard today (Friday) that when police went to a property in Mixenden just over a year ago Whittaker claimed not to have a mobile phone.
Eventually the device was handed over and the indecent images were found.
Prosecutor Andrew Dallas said the video clip showed a girl performing a sex act with a hairbrush and the extreme pornographic images included scenes of bestiality.
Whittaker admitted possessing the indecent images and failing to comply with his notification requirement after he didn’t tell the police about a change in his address.
The court heard that Whittaker had already spent five months in custody on remand and Judge Colin Burn said the community sentence was a chance for the defendant to make sure he did not offend again.
The judge also imposed a new sexual offences prevention order and said Whittaker would have to continue to notify the police of his whereabout
