Man knocked unconscious in Halifax attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked unconscious in a Halifax town centre attack in the early hours of Sunday (July 20) morning.

The man was left with a broken jaw and head injuries following the attack which happened outside the post office on Commercial Street at 4.40am.

The victim was approached by a group of men who started verbally abusing his sister. When the victim responded to them he was hit in the head. He fell to the floor and lost consciousness.

PC Lisa McDonald, of Halifax Police, said: “This incident happened outside the post office and I would urge anyone who witnessed it or has information about it to get in contact.”
