Man left in intensive care following Sowerby Bridge assault

A man is in intensive care after being assaulted by a group of men in Sowerby Bridge in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The 45-year-old victim received serious head injuries as a result of the attack, which happened on Wharf Street at 2.10am on Saturday, August 9. He is currently in Leeds General Infirmary, where his condition is described as “serious but stable”.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault, but have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Gary Stephenson, of Calderdale CID, said: “We are looking for witnesses to this man being assaulted to come forward. If anybody has any information I would urge them to contact Calderdale CID via 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.”
