Man left with serious head injuries after Halifax town centre attack

A man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after being attacked in Halifax town centre this morning (Friday).

Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault which happened outside William Hill bookmakers on Commercial Street at around 4.30am.

The 25-year-old victim, who is from Halifax, was attacked by another man as he walked along Commercial Street at the junction with Silver Street.

He was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Any witnesses to the attack are asked to call Calderdale CID via 101.
