Man mugged in Halifax as he walked home from work

A man was mugged in Halifax as he walked home from work.

The incident happened when the 27-year-old was walking along Keighley Road, at 10.30pm on Thursday, March 19.

The mugger, having asked for the time, attempted to grab the victim’s bag as he walked past Moorside Junior and Infants School.

A struggle ensued, during which the victim walked in to the middle of the road to try and get someone’s attention. The mugger escaped with the bag, leaving the victim with minor injuries.

Detective Constable Louise Halliwell, of Calderdale District CID, said: “There were a number of cars in the vicinity at the time of this offence and we would urge anyone in these vehicles or anyone else who has seen this robbery or anyone behaving suspiciously in the area to contact Calderdale District CID on 101.”
