Man spotted with large kitchen knife arrested in Halifax town centre

Officers from the Halifax Neighbourhood Policing team were called to the town centre after reports were received of a male in possession of a knife.

The NPT said the man was located and searched where a large kitchen knife was found leading to his arrest.

In the last seve days officers from Halifax have attended 531 calls for service resulting in 169 crimes being recorded and 76 arrests.

Officers from the NPT were also called to to an ongoing burglary in the Halifax district.

As officers arrived they found the suspect nearby. The man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He wascharged and remanded for his appearence in court.
