A man was stabbed with what police believe was a screwdriver in a robbery in Clayton last night.

It is understood the victim was outside the Co-op store in Clayton when he was repeatedly stabbed at about 6.40pm on Saturday.

He received a number of wounds and was taken to hospital, where his condition is not yet known.

Police also received a call at a similar time from a woman who said a male had tried to get into her car.

Detectives are linking the two incidents and have taken away the woman’s Mini Cooper car to be forensically examined.

The robber, who fled on foot, is described as a white male, but quite dark skinned, wearing a light grey hoody, trainers, a scarf pulled up over his face, about 6ft 1ins and of muscular build.

Witnesses should contact Airedale and North Bradford CID via 101.
