Masked gang in attempted Bradford shop robbery

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Bradford.

At about 8.40pm on Wednesday, September 24, three men entered a convenience store on Manchester Road and made demands for cash and cigarettes.

One of the men was carrying what was believed to be a gun, which he threatened the shop worker with.

The shop worker told the men he was going to phone the police and the men fled from the store.

The man who was believed to be carrying a gun is described as about six feet tall and of slim build. His face was covered with what was believed to be a red scarf or handkerchief. He was also wearing gloves.

Another suspect is described as being of slim build and about 5ft 8ins tall. He is believed to be in his late teens or early twenties and was wearing black trousers, gloves and a black hooded top. His face was covered with a black scarf.

The third man is described as white, about 5ft 6 ins tall and of slim build. He is also believed to be in his late teens or early twenties and was wearing a black hooded top and gloves, but no face covering.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, said: “We believe that someone will have seen these men as they ran from the store and I would urge anyone who may have seen them, or seen some suspicious activity in the Manchester Road area around that time to contact Bradford District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
