Police have reason to believe that Mr Stephenson has recently been in Wakefield and are urging him to make contact.

Mr Stephenson, 40, left the Cambian Oaks Hospital in Sheffield Road, Barnsley, at around 10.15am on Tuesday, March 18 . He told staff he intended to go shopping in the Huddersfield area, but never returned.

The last confirmed sighting of Mr Stephenson is at the Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Housing Team’s customer service centre in Town Hall Way, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, at around 3.30pm on Tuesday, March 25.

He has not been seen since, and it is believed he could be anywhere in the country.

Timothy Fish, missing persons officer at South Yorkshire Police said,: “If James sees this appeal, I would urge him to get in touch with us by calling 101.

“He is not in any trouble, we just want to confirm that he is safe and well.

“If he requires any assistance, again he should call police on 101. As time goes on and there is still no word from him, we are growing increasingly concerned for his safety.”

Mr Stephenson is described as having ginger-coloured hair and is approximately 5ft 8ins tall. When last seen, he was wearing a dark overcoat with a grey hooded top underneath and jeans.

Anyone with any information on Mr Stephenson’s whereabouts should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 589 of 18 March 2014.
