Pensioner had to be cut out of car following crash in Todmorden

The incident, involving a Vauxhall and a Peugeot 208 happened on the A646 Burnley Road at 9.47am.

The driver of the Peugeot, an 82-year-old female, had to be cut out of her vehicle.

The road was closed for around an hour while the scene was secured and accident investigation works were carried out, but re-opened at 10.30am.

The incident caused chaos for motorists, and several bus services were cancelled.
