Police appeal after assault in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Huddersfield town centre in the early hours of Saturday (February 1).

Detective Constable Shaun Topham said: “The offence occurred between 2.30am and 3am on Saturday, February 1, in Railway Street, Huddersfield. Three men have approached the 31-year-old victim and been verbally abusive before punching and kicking him. The victim required hospital treatment for injuries to the head, face and shoulder.

“The first man is described as white, aged in his early 20s, between 5 ft 4 ins to 5 ft 5 ins tall, of large build, with short, dark brown hair. The second suspect is described as white, again aged in his early 20s, between 5 ft 8 ins to 5 ft 10 ins tall, of slim build, with short, blond hair. The third man is described as being of similar height and build to the second man with dark hair.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or saw men matching the suspects’ descriptions in the area around the time of the offence. Anyone with information is asked to call Huddersfield CID on 101.”
