Police appeal after Halifax town centre assault

Halifax police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in the town centre on January 8.

Between 12:45 pm and 1.15 pm a 29-year old woman was assaulted by a 30-year old man after an argument outside the Duke of Wellington Pub, (formerly The Goose) Commercial Street.

During the assault the woman was pushed to the ground and kicked.

She was left with minor injuries.

The 30-year old man was arrested after being detained at the scene by two members of the public and is currently on bail.

Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact PC 6309 Craig Collins at Calderdale police via 101.
