Police appeal after man mugged in Halifax

Detectives are appealing for information abter a robbery in Lee Mount in Halifax.

A 40-year-old man was between Wheatley Lane and Ovenden Road when he saw two men approaching him from the direction of Melrose Mount.

A short time later a man grabbed his bag. The victim tried to resist before being pushed to the ground and the man pulled at the bag, causing the strap to snap.

He made off towards Lee Mount Road.

The man officers want to speak to in connection with the incident is described as white, aged 17 to 19, 6ft tall and slim.

He was wearing jeans, a blue sports coat with a black stripe on the sleeve and a trapper hat with flaps on the ears and a brown and cream pattern.
