Police appeal after racist abuse on train

Police appealing for information after a boy was racially abused on a train.

PC Roberto Dicorato, the investigating officer from British Transport Police, said the victim - a boy who was travelling with a friend on the 10.38pm Northern Rail service from Hebden Bridge to Todmorden on Saturday, has been left upset and shaken by the ordeal.

He said: ““A 44-year-old man from Todmorden was arrested at Todmorden Station following the incident.

“We are conducting local inquiries into the incident and ask anyone who may have been on the train and witnessed the incident or has any information that could help our investigation to come forward.”
