On Tuesday, April 29, another bin was set on fire at the same location, again at around 3pm. As a result of this fire, the guttering, downstairs window and dividing fence of a property were extensively damaged.

The third incident occurred the next day, Wednesday, April 30, again at the same location when another bin was set on fire. This incident caused damage to the church located on Church Road, Altofts.

All three are being treated by the police as arson.

PC Steve Day, of the Normanton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Fortunately no one was hurt during these incidents but fires are dangerous. Officers have been speaking to local residents to see if anyone has witnessed any of these crimes and I would appeal to anyone with any information to come forward.”

Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101.
