Police appeal after taxi driver attacked in Leeds

West Yorkshire Police have released a CCTV image of two people they want to trace in connection with a robbery on taxi driver in Leeds.

The man and woman were passengers in a taxi that took them to New Briggate near to the junction with Merrion Street.

They refused to pay the fare and then attacked the 30-year-old driver.

The driver managed to get out of his vehicle but continued to be attacked in the street by the man.

He then realised that a significant amount of cash had been taken from his pocket during the attack.

The incident happened at about 3am on Sunday, April 6.
