Police appeal following Leeds sexual assault

Police are appealing for information after a 21-year-old female was sexually assaulted as she walked on Hyde Park Road, Leeds, in the early hours of Friday morning (October 31).

Detective Inspector Ian Lawrence, from Leeds District CID, said: “The incident occurred shortly before 4am this morning when the victim was walking along Hyde Park Road, near to the junction with Woodsley Road, and heard footsteps behind her.

“The victim was then dragged into a nearby car park where she was subjected to a sexual assault before she screamed and the suspect fled on foot in the direction of Burley Road.

“The suspect is described as a white male, 29-31 years of age, with light blonde or ginger coloured hair, which was spiked up at the front. He was also said to be wearing dark coloured shoes, light blue coloured jeans and a dark coloured top.

“Patrols by neighbourhood officers have been increased in the area and I would appeal for anyone who may have seen something suspicious that could be linked to this incident, or anyone who recognises the description of the suspect, to contact police.”
