Police appeal for ATM robbery outside Halifax Post Office

Police are appealing for witnesses following a cashpoint robbery in Halifax town centre.

The robbery took place outside a Post Office cashpoint when a woman was using the ATM at Old Cock Yard on Friday, July 25, morning at around 12.15am.

The 47-year-old female noticed a woman was stood behind her while she was using the cashpoint.

She put the money she had withdrawn from the ATM into her bag when the suspect made a grab for the bag.

The two women were involved in a struggle when the victim was knocked to the ground and the female suspect made off with the money.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Calderdale CID are appealing to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information relating to the incident.

DC Richard Drabble of Calderdale CID, said: “We are investigating this incident and would like to speak to anyone who saw what took place. We do know there were witnesses to the offence and some people stopped to help the victim and we would like to speak to anyone who can provide information.
