Police appeal for witnesses after woman is hit by car in Leeds

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Leeds.

Roads Policing Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident on the A653 Dewsbury Road near Meadow Lane at about 8pm on Friday November 8.

It took place after a silver Skoda Octavia car, which was heading out of Leeds from Meadow Lane, hit an 18-year-old Leeds woman as she crossed from the central reservation on the pedestrian crossing.

She suffered a serious leg and a serious facial injury and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment. She remains in hospital today in a critical condition.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or the car or pedestrian shortly beforehand.
