Police appeal for witnesses following street robbery in Halifax

Police are appealing for information after a 30-year-old man was robbed and assaulted as he walked to the shops in Halifax.

At around 3pm on October 6, the victim was walking on Warley Road, opposite the junction with Springhall Lane, when he was attacked from behind by three men.

Detective Constable Craig Aubrey, from Halifax CID, said: “The victim was dragged to the floor where he was punched and kicked before the suspects took a small amount of cash and fled on foot in the direction of Gibbet Street.

“As a result of the robbery the victim was left with bruising to his ribs and swelling to his face but the consequences of this incident could have been far worse and it’s important we identify and trace those involved in this unprovoked and vicious assault.”

All three suspects are believed to be white males aged in their mid twenties with medium builds and short, dark coloured hair.

They are all thought to have been wearing dark blue tracksuit bottoms, with two wearing blue coloured coats and one a distinctive red jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Craig Aubrey at Halifax CID via: 101 and quoting crime reference number 0833 from 6 October.
