Police issue another appeal to trace taxi passenger in Wyke fatality

Police officers are still trying to trace the passenger of a taxi involved in a fatal collision in Wyke.

Police have arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by careless driving following the collision which resulted in the death of Scholes resident Victoria Holland, 28. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A number of CCTV images have been released of a woman who police want to talk to following the fatality in Whitehall Road at around 2.30am on May 16.

Police say the car involved, a Toyota Corolla, was a private hire vehicle and it is believed that the pictured woman may have been a passenger in it at the time of the collision.

Sergeant Carl Quinn, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “We would urge anyone who recognises the woman in these CCTV images to please make contact with the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101.”
