Police issue appeal after woman is mugged in Halifax

A woman was pushed to the ground during a night-time mugging in Halifax.

Police have issued a witness appeal following the incident which happened on Burnley Road near the junction with King Cross Road at 9.35pm on Sunday, 29 March.

A male attacker grabbed the 40-year-old victim’s bag from behind and in pulling the bag caused her to fall to the ground. The victim suffered minor injuries.

The suspect is described as wearing a grey hoody with the hood up and a black body warmer. Following the mugging, he ran off with the bag in the Warley Road direction.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said “Anyone who witnessed this incident or saw a man matching the suspect’s description in the vicinity of this offence is asked to call Calderdale District CID on 101.”
