Police issue appeal for witnesses after man is robbed in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Newsome, Huddersfield.

The Kirklees Robbery Team would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information about the incident which took place at about 4.15am on Newsome Road in Huddersfield on Wednesday. May 22.

It occurred after the victim, a 22-year-old man, was approached by three men and grabbed from behind while he was walking in front of houses between Stile Common Road and Tunnacliffe Road.

He was then assaulted by the group who made off with some of his property including a debit card and mobile phone.

The three made off in a dark coloured vehicle heading towards the bottom of Newsome Road, leaving the victim with some superficial facial injuries.

The attackers were described as of Asian ethnicity and were all in their 20’s.
