Police in Bradford are appealing for information following a possible gun attack last night (Friday, August 8)

The incident occurred at 10:30pm on Spencer Road in Lidget Green at which time loud bangs were reported in the area and a silver Toyota Yaris was subsequently located with damage consistent with a firearms discharge.

No-one was injured during the incident and enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Detective Inspector Paul Campbell is investigating and said: “The vehicle was stationary at the time it was attacked and did not contain any occupants.

“Although our investigations are currently at an early stage, we do believe this was a targeted and isolated attack.

“A considerable amount of partnership work is ongoing in Bradford to tackle those behind the use and possession of firearms, particularly under Operation Sabredale.

“Their presence will never be tolerated or accepted in West Yorkshire and I can assure local residents that there is a team of detectives working extremely hard to locate individuals responsible.

“Any witnesses or anyone with information who could assist in our enquiries should contact the non emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
