Police issue witness appeal after two-car crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a two-car crash in Elland.

The incident, involving a red Vauxhall Astra and a red Ford Focus, happened at Elland Wood Bottom - near to Elland Crematorium - at 12.50pm on Saturday (September 6).

A 33-year-old woman had to be cut out of one of the cars by fire crews from Elland and Halifax.

She was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary after sustaining a neck injury.

An adult and child also in the vehicle were unharmed.

The driver of the other car sustained neck and back injuries, while his passenger suffered a head injury, as well as neck and back injuries.

PC Cameron Buchan, of the Wester Area Road Policing Team, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to contact police on 101.”

The road was closed in both directions for around an hour.
