Police link Huddersfield jewellers raid to similar offence in Halifax

Police are linking a raid on a jewellers in Huddersfield to similar offence in Halifax.

In the Huddersfield raid, which happened at 8pm, on Sunday, December 21, thieves escaped with approximately 105 watches worth £149,000 from Beaverbrook jewellery store on King Street.

Items stolen included, 48 TAG watches, 19 Gucci watches, 31 Raymond Weil watches and 7 Michael Kors watches.

Officers confirmed they are investigating whether this crime is linked to similar offences Halifax and Leeds.

Detective Constable Ian Carruthers, of Huddersfield CID, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident and also anybody who is offered one of these watches for sale. We are investigating a number of offences across West Yorkshire and are keen for any information which could help our wider enquiries. Det Cons Carruthers confirmed that the thieves set off the security alarm during the raid.
