Police name three killed in Halifax incidents

The names of a man who died in a Halifax nightclub and two men who died in a road smash have officially been released by police.

Thirty-eight-year-old Andrew Feather, of Hipperholme, died following an incident at Liquid nightclub in Halifax in the early hours of Sunday.

A 25-year-old Huddersfield man remains in police custody after being arrested yesterday on suspicion of manslaughter.

Two men from Queensbury died following a road traffic accident on Friday night at Ovenden Road.

Sergeant Carl Quinn, of West Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision Investigation Unit, said: “VW Golf GTI driver Benjamin Brearcliffe, 20, and front sear passenger Michael Hudson, 19, were both tragically killed in the collision when their vehicle left the carriageway and collided with a lamppost on Ovenden Road around 10 pm.

“A 19-year-old male, who was a rear seat passenger, was treated in hospital for a serious but not-life threatening foot injury.

“The red coloured Golf GTI car had been witnessed travelling with a red Vauxhall Astra VXR around Halifax town centre before the collision and we are keen to trace the earlier movements of both vehicles.
