Officers from halifax Neighbouhood Policing Team arrested a 15-year-old male yesterday in the Woolshops Shopping Centre for numerous offences including breaching a court order and court bail conditions.

The NPT said the teen violently resisted the arrest resulting in minor injuries to a police officer and police community support officer.

A spokesperson for the NPT said: "The arrest took place in a busy town centre shopping area witnessed by numerous members of the public including one person who kindly assisted the two officers with the arrest.

"This ensured that the injuries to the officer were only minor in nature.

"As officers at the scene were unable to take his details PS 1418 Andy Bingham is asking that this person contact him so he can pass on his thanks."
