Police release e-fit image after woman is sexually assaulted in Leeds

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Leeds.

Police have released an e-fit image of a man they want to trace in connection with the incident which took place between 5.50pm and 6.10pm on Sunday, June 8.

The 27-year-old victim was approached by a man in Gower Street, who asked her for the time and then asked her for directions before sexually assaulting her .

He then walked off up Gower Street.

The attacked is described as white, aged in his early twenties, about 5 ft 4 ins tall, and of stout build. He had a reddish face and short dark blonde curly hair. He was wearing a greyish blue hooded top with a zip. His speech was slurred and he appeared to be under the influence of drink or drugs

PC Pam Whiteside, of Leeds District Neighbourhood Investigations Unit, said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and I would urge anyone who recognises this man to contact police immediately.”
