Rastrick man to face trial following firearms charges

A teenager appeared at Bradford Crown Court today (Friday) charged with fire arms offences.

Dominic Barker, 19, of Arnold Royd, Rastrick, was in court after a haul of weapons were found at a factory in Elland last month.

Two decommissioned grenades, three licensed shotguns and a further firearm were discovered by police at the Halifax Road site on June 26.

The defendant - whose charges are yet to be decided on due to ongoing investigations - was bailed and will be back in court for a plea and case management hearing on October 25.

He’s then due to face a trial - expected to last five days - on January 13.

Barker spoke only to confirm his name at a brief preliminary hearing today and wore a black suit as he stood in the dock.
