The team responded, with dog teams and fell parties who were deployed to carry out rapid path searches of the area.

The team’s water section was moved by vehicle to gain access to Gaddings Dam, a local beauty spot, via moorland tracks.

Their task was to search the water margins of the dam.

Whilst the water team was on route they came across the missing walker on the road walking home.

The walker was taken to CVSRT’s control location where he was treated for mild hypothermia and the effects of a fall sustained in the darkness and handed over to the Ambulance service on their arrival.
